TOURNAMENT RULES
- All games will be played under FIBA rules, unless the organising committee change any rule over the weekend to accommodate the smooth running of tournament.
- Players are permitted to play/register for one team only.
- Over 40’s Men’s – must be at least 40 years of age on year of tournament.
- Over 40’s Ladies – must be at least 40 years of age, and allowed two players over the age of 35 on year of tournament.
- Over 50’s Men’s & Ladies – must be at least 50 years of age, and allowed two players who turn 49 in 2024.
- You must play on Friday or Saturday in order to play on Sunday.
- All players must provide their date of birth, as proof of age may be requested from another team. Playing of underage players will result in immediate disqualification.
- It is expected that all players conduct themselves in the spirit of Masters basketball. We will not tolerate any abuse of referees or board officials. Such action will result in immediate player or team disqualification from the tournament.
- All games must start at the allocated times. Failure by a team to play on time can result in the game being awarded to the opposing team on a scoreline of 20-0.
- Six minute quarters, running clock for the first three quarters, stop clock in the last.
- Two time outs per team per game.
- Players are out of game on fourth personal foul.
- Teams in foul trouble on fifth team foul.
- In the event of a tie, the five members of each team on the court at that time will take a free throw each. Whoever scores the most is the winner. If it’s still a tie then, it goes to sudden death, with the same players involved.
- All other rulings will be decided by the committee.
